Manage Budget Values by GL Accounts (Goal Seek)

The Manage budget values by GL accounts’ category with Demx function enables simulations via goal seek. You can calculate related input values based on a known output value. For example, if you set the total revenue to $100,000, the application can calculate the average sales price or total sales quantity based on the specified target.

This feature is available to users on Budget Planner v1.2.0 and higher.

Follow these steps to use the goal seek feature:

1. Select the Manage working versions module.
2. Select the desired version from the list and then click the View button.
3. Select a department and then click the Manage budget lines/values button.
4. Click the Manage budget values by GL accounts’ category with Demx icon . The Manage working versions - Goal Seek screen displays.
5. Select the desired value and set the goal seek target. This serves as the reference value from which you can derive other related values.



6. Select the cell you want to calculate based on the specified target and then click the Set Goal Seek button.



7. Click the Save Changes button. The goal seek calculation changes the underlying data to achieve the target value.

You can repeat these steps across components to create simulations for different scenarios.

In the grid, you can also:

• Discard Changes - Revert any changes.
• Reload Data - Refresh the GL account data.
