Manage Budget Values by Quantity and Price

The Manage budget values, quantities and prices with PXL function allows you to manage budget values using quantity and price. This option provides an alternative template for adding budget amounts. When you modify the quantity, price, or value for each budget line, the application automatically calculates the corresponding results. For example, if a subscription license costs $50 and you plan to sell 1,500 licenses in January, input the following values against the GL account: Quantity = 1500 and Price = 50. The application will calculate the total amount, in this case, $75,000. You can adjust any two components to calculate the third.

This feature is available to users on Budget Planner v1.2.0 and higher.

Follow these steps to add budget values using quantity and price:

1. Select the Manage working versions module.
2. Select the desired version from the list and then click the View button.
3. Select a department and then click the Manage budget lines/values button.
4. Select the Manage budget values, quantities and prices with PXL icon . The Manage working versions - Quantity & Price screen displays.
5. Specify any two components – quantity, price, or value – for the desired budget line and month. For instance, you can input the quantity and price to calculate the budget amount, or enter the quantity and value to determine the price.



6. Click the Save Changes button. The application calculates the third component.



7. The Smart Lock drop-down field allows you to keep one component constant while modifying another for further recalculations. Select one of the following options:
   1. None - Allows you to edit any two components to calculate the third.
   2. Price - Locks the price component.
   3. Quantity - Locks the quantity component.
   4. Value - Locks the value component.



8. Repeat the steps to set the desired budget amount for GL accounts.

This feature enables advanced budget planning by quantity and price.

Note: If you add budget values in the Manage working versions - Budget Values screen, the application will automatically calculate the quantity and price in the Manage working versions - Quantity & Price screen based on the specified budget value. The quantity will default to 1, and the price will match the budget value.
