This topic describes the new features, enhancements, and resolved issues for Data Entry Matrix v24.2, released on July 01, 2024.

Data Entry Matrix v24.2.3 Resolved Issues

Data Entry Matrix v24.2.3 was released on July 29, 2024.

Title Description

Dynamic Spread

  • Dynamic spreading on locked cells with goal seek is now applied only if there are locked cells within the tuple.
  • The Cascade Spreads to Lowest Level function now works correctly with multiple hierarchy levels.
  • When the Cascade Spreads to Lowest Level setting is enabled, pressing the Escape key after setting a goal seek target now successfully removes the goal seek.

Data Entry Matrix v24.2.2 Resolved Issue

Data Entry Matrix v24.2.2 was released on July 10, 2024.

Title Description

Dynamic Spread in Tuple

The dynamic spread with read-only values is not updated in the tuple. The frontend spread functions as expected but it sends values to the tuple as editable fields and the backend writeback method changes the non-editable fields.

Data Entry Matrix v24.2.1 New Feature

Data Entry Matrix v24.2.1 was released on July 08, 2024.

Title Description

Prevent Auto Refresh

The new Prevent Auto Refresh setting in Data Entry group grid updates when you have unsaved changes. It prompts you to save or discard your edits, preventing unintentional loss. Enabling this setting creates a block period for automatic refresh.

Data Entry Matrix v24.2.1 Resolved Issues

Title Description

Commenting

This version fixes the issue related to saving comments to cells.

Totals

In the Reading view, the report now correctly displays totals for collapsed hierarchies.

Hierarchy Editing

You can now edit cells when a value is related to the total. Data Entry Matrix no longer ignores editing when the hierarchy is null.

Data Entry Matrix v24.2 New Features

Title Description

Dynamic Spread

The new Cascade Spreads to Lowest Level setting enables dynamic spreading at the lowest granularity; the total values propagating down to the lowest level. For example, when you modify the annual revenue (a yearly figure), the change automatically spreads to the month level (rather than the quarter level). If the setting is disabled, spreading occurs only at the total level.

Region

Data Entry Matrix now supports European input formats. From the new Region setting in the General tab, you can either choose Auto Detect, which identifies the browser language, or manually select any language/region of your preference. The default value is English. In number, date, and date-time columns, Data Entry Matrix now uses the language and separator based on the selected Region value while following the Date Format set in Data Entry and the format string set in Column Properties. When you copy and paste these values within Power BI and Excel, they will align with the set region.

Data Entry Matrix v24.2 Feature Enhancement

Title Description

Handle Special Characters

If a cell value contains the character ‘]’, Data Entry Matrix now ensures that it is properly escaped when using that value in an MDX query.

Data Entry Matrix v24.2 Resolved Issues

Title Description

Formatting

After upgrading to the latest version, Data Entry Matrix now retains the configured formatting.

Loading Data

  • The visual no longer freezes when fetching multiple rows; records load successfully.
  • It performs efficiently when expanding and collapsing rows and columns in larger datasets.
  • Scrolling now works correctly.

Smart Formulas

Smart formulas now work successfully in a NULL cell, saving the desired output.
