PowerON Matrix v26.2 Release Notes

Introduction

PowerON Matrix is a new data entry visual that brings a modern, streamlined approach to Power BI reporting. Built on an updated architecture with an improved user interface, PowerON Matrix addresses key performance and usability challenges of earlier data entry solutions. This release marks the beginning of the PowerON Matrix visual, introducing foundational features while maintaining compatibility with existing Power BI workflows.

Power ON Matrix leverages lessons learned from the legacy Data Entry Matrix to deliver a cleaner design, faster interactions, and a more intuitive experience. The new architecture enables us to implement advanced collaboration and audit capabilities more efficiently, setting the foundation for expanded functionality in future releases. Over the coming months, PowerON Matrix will gradually assume the full feature set of its predecessor, eventually becoming the recommended data entry solution for all Power ON users.

Dynamic Totals

Automatic recalculation and distribution of values across SUM aggregations. When you edit any cell in an aggregated structure, whether a leaf value, subtotal, or grand total, all dependent values update automatically to maintain consistency. Edits flow both directions: changes to leaf values recalculate all ancestor subtotals and totals upward; changes to subtotals or totals distribute the difference proportionally across contributing leaf values. This eliminates manual recalculation and ensures data integrity across your entire structure. Works with numeric data including negative values and zeros.
